Introduction personnelle
Hello I’m Karen and I’m 18 years old. I live in a small rural town with my dad, my brother, and my cat, Kanchis. My father works as a tractor driver and my brother is currently studying commerce. I just graduated from arts baccalaureate. This baccalaureate helped develop my creativity and realize how much I love visual language, from paintings to films.
The main motivation for this journey is that one of my uncles has been living in Hamburg for more than 10 years, and because of that, I’ve always been very curious about German culture and language, which I find very different from the Spanish. Since I’ve just started learning German, I thought it would be a great idea to live abroad to immerse myself in the language and culture before going to college because it will give me some time to figure out what I really want to study.
Although I don’t have professional experience babysitting, I have taken care of my cousin since he was 5 (he’s now 11). Looking after him taught me patience since he’s a very restless kid, his energy never runs out, not even at night. I also volunteer in a Christmas park where I help in different activities such as painting, doing diy or looking after the children in different areas like air mattresses and the playgrounds. There I could engage with kids of different ages and realize how much I love spending time with kids.
My friends and family consider me a very helpful, creative and cheerful person and I truly reflect on those words. I’m also very dedicated and fully aware of my responsibilities, doing chores for me won’t be any problem, neither cooking, I'm used to doing them. And currently I don’t have a drivers license yet but I'm working on that. Furthermore, I speak fluent Spanish and Catalan and I have the Cambridge B2 certificate in English and A1 in German and also have a certificate as a junior leisure activity monitor.
Talking a little bit more about my interests, as I said before are arts, cinema, taking pictures and design but also I love baking, hanging out with my friends and family, petting my cat and, more recently, running. I can assure your children won't get bored with me. I always love to do different activities and tell jokes.
For me it is really important to find a family who lives in Hamburg or really nearby, also, one with good communication because I believe it’s the key to a healthy environment. I would appreciate a German-speaking family to help me improve my language skills.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me, I’ll reply as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Karen
