Hello family! It is exciting for me to introduce myself and thank you for your interest in wanting to know me more. My name is Sherilan, I am 24 years old and I am from Barranquilla-Colombia. Online student of my last year of International Business and Finance. I love languages, my mother tongue is Spanish, I have an intermediate level of English, I am currently studying French and german in a school and I am self-taught Italian. In the near future I want to be able to say “I am a polyglot”. Learning new languages opens doors to more information, to connect more with people and their culture. At the age of 17, browsing the internet I discovered AuPairs and since then I have had them on my wish list. I want to be an AuPair because I love getting to know new cultures, new languages, customs and traditions totally different from mine. I love to travel, I have been fortunate to visit 12 countries, I have been in 4 of them for more than 2 months. The magic of traveling and getting to know different places and things is that it opens your mind, it has allowed me to find myself and get to know myself more in each of those places. Being an AuPair I would dive in a deeper and more intimate way, because living day by day with the host family gives you another look at their culture, something more real and authentic. Being an AuPair in a foreign country would give me the joy of saying that I have a new home there, a new family and new siblings. Creating bonds and connections is important to me, I am one of the people who give themselves completely, who give the best of themselves and give a lot of love. I like challenges, adventures and without a doubt being an AuPair this will be part of the day to day. It will be an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. But the most important part of this is the children. For me, children are the most sacred and pure thing there is, I have always been a magnet with children, perhaps I have that very developed maternal side. They wake up in my love, tenderness and want to do the best for them. Children are curious little angels, innocent, with contagious energy and free. I would be honored and very grateful for opening the doors of your culture, your home, your lives and that of your children who are your greatest treasure. I would love to hold your hands and help you grow, be a guide and example as a sister. Take care of them, teach them what I know, my culture, my language, leave something valuable in them and that they will always remember. Nothing would be better than fulfilling my dreams hand in hand with children. I consider that I would be a good AuPair because I love children and I have experience with them. I am a responsible, structured person with good habits. I have skills that would serve with children and I would be happy to share and teach them. I am a girl who likes order and cleanliness. I have very well-founded principles and values. I am very open, flexible and adaptable. I have always been surrounded by children. My first experience was my brother, my mother was a single mother and she had to work to give us a better life. I took care of him until my 20s, we have an age difference of 8 years. I helped with things around the house, help my brother with his homework, feed him, my brother is everything to me and I love him very much. In my last year of school, as a requirement, they asked us for 100 hours caring for and helping kindergarten children. Which made me happy, I have a lot of patience and I always keep calm. See how they are instantly taking care of you, that they want you not to let go, they draw pictures for you, they want to comb your hair, they give you flowers, etc. It is something that fills my heart. Seeing that I really liked taking care of them and helping them, between the ages of 16 and 17 I put a sign outside at my mother's house announcing that I was caring for and guiding children's homework, knowing my love for them and also because of how busy they usually are. parents. After leaving school in the afternoons, I helped up to 4 children in primary grades at home. At family and friends parties, and I say this with a smile, I have always been the one who stays away from the adults and stays with the group of children, playing with them or helping my uncles, cousins or parent friends to calm them down. They have always told me that I have "the good hand with children", I must admit that I do and it is something that I love. Sensitivity, empathy, lightness and creativity are words that totally describe me. I am a calm, positive, conscientious and introspective girl. An organized girl, who likes planning and structure, which is why I establish schedules and have good time management. I am affectionate, attentive, understandable. I love nature. I am a family and home girl. I love animals. I love the sea. I really enjoy music, coffee in the morning. I like to help. I love physical activity like running, going to the gym, doing yoga. I like soccer, tennis and volleyball. I love to write, read and meditate daily. I like to learn new things and I like to study so I am always doing short courses online. I love art, painting, designing and acting. I have always liked Europe, every country I have visited has captivated me. Europe is magical, ancient, full of history, security, with beautiful architecture, full of languages and cultures. So my dream has always been to study somewhere in Europe. That would be my plan after completing my stay as an AuPair, I feel that after completing that period and great experience, I will have wonderful tools to make that dream possible.
