We are a couple in our mid thirties with two young children - our daughter was born in December and our happy little son is 2. We live in Worthing, a friendly seaside town 30 mins from Brighton. There are lots of language schools in Worthing, and London is only 1h30 away by train so it's easy for a day trip. We both work from home and enjoy living by the sea. My partner is Irish and loves cycling, I'm originally from Brighton and have family close by. We are a relaxed family looking for someone friendly and caring to help look after our toddler and help out a little with the baby too. Our son is a very happy, adaptable little toddler who loves meeting new people. Our baby has just started to smile back at us and make very cute noises - she is getting more gorgeous every day!
We're looking for someone to help look after our toddler - it will probably be for 1 morning and 1 afternoon a week, including getting him dressed, feeding him breakfast, taking him to the park or swimming or to a group etc, basically entertaining him whilst one of us is busy with the baby. Also 2 afternoons a week looking after the baby whilst I work upstairs, holding her, singing to her, comforting her if she cries, walking around with her, feeding her from a bottle. I would be in the house if you had a problem so you would never be on your own with the baby. Then being around from 6-7 most evenings to help with dinner time, and looking after either the baby or our toddler for 7 hours each Sunday, with me one week then my partner the next week. Some babysitting in the evenings to be agreed (maximum 2 nights per week). We wouldn't leave the baby with you, but would either take the baby with us and leave you with our toddler, or just ask you to look after the baby while I have a bath etc! A willingness to cook the evening meal a few nights a week would be good. We live in a large house by the seaside. You'll have a light, spacious double room with sofa, desk, wardrobe and chest of drawers to yourself. You will have two days off a week, one of them being at the weekend. We will pay you £85 a week for 30 hours, and free bed and food. We are looking for someone outgoing and confident, who has enough English to be able to communicate with us and our toddler. We would like to find someone who is experienced with young children and ideally babies too and would be happy to entertain them - especially being pro active for example making up games with our toddler to distract him when I am with the baby or we are working. Our current au pair leaves on 20 May, so ideally we would like someone to stay from then until late August (possibly longer) but we are away for 2.5 weeks in the end of July/early August, so would not need an au pair then. You would be welcome to stay here or go travelling yourself in that period.
