I am a single father to a wonderful 13 year old boy who has been living with me full time. I am also a partner in a sports business and work far too many hours! While this isn't too much of a problem at the moment, I am waiting for confirmation of a new contract which will mean that I will be travelling away from home quite a bit and will undoubtedly need some help looking after my son.
As a 13 year old, my son doesn't need a lot of "looking after", more just somebody to be in the house with him when I am working. I don't think it would be an especially difficult role for somebody to fill! I would ideally like somebody who wouldn't mind helping out with housework and even maybe cooking sometimes. I will most certainly make sure that you are looked after well as I will want you to feel very much a part of the family rather than just an "employee". I appreciate that not every au pair will be happy with single parents, and especially single dads, and I can understand that. But I really hope that I can find somebody who can be an important part of our lives for the next couple of years and have fun themselves in the process.
