We are looking for an au pair to join our family. My husband and I both work, although I only work for 3.5 days a week now. We have had the same nanny for the last 11 years but now she wants to set up her own child minding business so we need someone to replace her in December 2016. You would have your own 1 bedroom lovely apartment to live which is in the grounds of our house - this would be for most of the year. For 6 weeks in the summer you would need to use one of the bedrooms of the main house. We live on the beautiful island of Jersey - close to France and 45 minutes flight to London. It has gorgeous beaches and a great outdoors lifestyle. We have 3 lovely children - 2 boys aged 11 and 8 and a little girl of 4. All go to the same school. There are lots of Spanish au pairs here already - with 3 Spanish au pairs looing after other children in my little girl's class at school - so there is a nice community already.
In the school term times (approx. 36 weeks of the year) we need help with doing school runs on a few of the days and then to collect the children from school on 3 days and take them to activities. In the day time we would need you to just to wash and iron the childrens' clothes and shop for their food, prepare food and lunch boxes. Also to baby sit a couple of times a week and maybe help with one activity on a Saturday. Max 25 hours a week for school term times. For school holidays (approx. 16 weeks of the year) the hours will be slightly longer as the children will be at home or booked into activities so we would need help through the working day from 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Max 40 hours per week in school holidays. You would be very much part of the family but would also have your own independence for most of the year with your own 1 bedroom cottage on site.
