We are a happy family of four. Orla, Adrian, Roisin (11) & Siobhan (8). We live just on the edge of London in a very pleasant village called Surbiton. We are looking for someone who wants to experience life living and working here in the UK. Please apply if you like being with children and enjoy playing with them and helping them to learn. A good level of English, driving licence and experience driving are all requirements - but we do not expect perfection :-). If you fit the profile we are sure that you will enjoy your time with us and that you will find the girls, how you will be treated, your accommodation and the area in which we live all very much to your liking. You will be given a proper contract and very acceptable working conditions. We would be particularly pleased to hear from you if you have a background in childcare or teaching.
We are looking for an energetic and engaging carer to look after our girls for the days when Orla is at work. On days that you are working this will involve helping them from 7.00am to get dressed, breakfasted and down to school a little after 8.00am and returning to tidy up and some light house-work until 10.00am. In the afternoon collection from school is typically just after 3.00pm, but there are various after school clubs that you will need to make sure that the girls are ready for and taken to / collected from. The usual kind of thing - Brownies / Girl Guides, athletics, music groups. They are both members of a few, but it is not obsessive - they need time just to play after all! Some local child related driving will be required. Also you will need to prepare meals and cook for them on the days that you are working. Typically you will finish at around 19.00. So you can expect three 7 (3+4) hour days per week plus one or two evenings of baby-sitting (very occasional overnight responsibility for which we will pay you extra) and some additional light house-work to help Orla out during the week. During the summer holidays some additional flexibility and paid hours may be required to cover when Orla is working. We have a cleaner / ironing lady who comes in regularly so you are not expected to do it all! No smoking please and no overnight guests. However, we are not prudes and whatever you do in your own time (of which you will have quite a lot) is fine by us as long as it is legal and does not effect the girls or your ability to do your job :-)
