Hey there, we are a german family going abroad to England for 5-6 month and we are looking for a responsible, nice and fun Aupair for our two small kids. We are a nice family from a little city in Germany and will only live in Manchester (UK) for a limited amount of time. We, that includes my two Kids, Eva,5, and Erik,2.5, my partner, Udo, who will only visit us approx. every second weekend and I, Liv. We are a more or less normal family which in Germany, lives in a litte house in the City and both parent work fulltime. Usally the kids attend daycare from Monday till Friday. Our 'extended' family is rather large and the grandparents and our friends are all very much included in our family life. Our kids are used to be on tour and are always earger to try new things and learn about the world. I myself spend a year in High School abroad, so i have some idea, what you will go through, when coming into our family as a new family member and of course will try to help as much as possible to feel comfortable.
Since i will be working most weekdays, it would fall to you to take care of the two little ones. Of course we will show you everything, the routines, the kids are used to, how our familyday is usally arranged etc.. We wish for the kids to learn as much englisch as possible- so Englisch will be the first language spoken in our family. However, since they are still pretty little we think it smart, that some german in the beginning is also fine to make life easier for them. Eva already said, that they can teach you German, since you are teaching them Englisch:) We would wish that the kids go outside to play and discover a lot, draw, paint, read, sing etc. We do not wish the kids to watch TV all day long, but rather do fun stuff together with you. We would also expect, that you are up to some house work, incl. cleaning, shopping and cooking food for the kids. We are not quite sure yet, how your working time will be distributed, but it is very likely that the hours are within the working week and you would have most weekends off.
