We like au pairs who wish to be part of our family, we are lucky enough to have experienced great times with previous au pairs, many keep in touch, some return for holidays (one returned a 2nd time as our au pair) hopefully that gives you the knowledge that we are a nice family to live with and that you too could have a wonderful au pair experience with us. We have welcomed au pairs from Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain and the UK. We need an au pair from Mid/late Jan2015 for a minimum 6 months. Every au pair brings something new and fun to our family and so we are open minded about the type of person who will join us. I work away from home sometimes so it is important that our au pair is responsible, confident caring with the children, has good english(fast learner), is able to drive and has the initiative and confidence to calmly handle unexpected situations which arise. Most previous au pairs were "first timers" so no experience needed, it's helpful if you have experience caring/working with children so you understand their special ways!The girls are all very well behaved and I am proud of how they treat our au pairs, they know that you are in charge when I am away and I will not undermine your authority in front of them. We are an active family (walking,cycling,swimming, badminton,dancing,netball, the sea) so it's great if you're active too. We enjoy films, the girls play flute/keyboard and enjoy time with friends. We cook meals from scratch and the girls help.
Childcare for 3 daughters, getting up, breakfast, prepare pack lunches, send to school, after school help with homework, take to activities/play dates, have fun, talk to the girls about their day/your day etc, cook tea, make sure go to bed on time. I work away from home sometimes so overnight sole care of the chidren is required. General housework e.g. dusting, vacuuming, mop floors, clean bathrooms and kitchen. Do ironing, occasionally assist with laundry. These housekeeping duties should take about 4 hours per week. You are surrogate mum, daughter, big sister, friend. I am sure there are things you will be asked to do that I haven't listed but I have tried to remember everything. We are a busy family and routines can change week to week. Flexibility and working as a team is important, a little bit of give and take (or "compromise") makes for a happy harmonious household. This is an au pair plus role so the hours will be about 30 per week. Pocket Money GBP85. You have your own room, share bathroom and separate shower room with the girls, use of living areas, garden, house has TV and internet. Use of car for taking girls to activities and for use in your free time as and when agreed, you pay for fuel for personal use. We live opposite the sea, beside the village green, playground and sailing club near to Cowes, Isle of Wight, off the south coast of the UK - it's heavenly in the sunshine but chilly in the wind!
