*I am a business man who mainly works from home and my wife is the Head teacher of a London State Primary School. In September my eldest girl (13) goes to her new school where she will be a weekly boarder who comes home at the weekend and my youngest daughter goes to the Local State Primary School which is 10 minutes walking time from our front door. We had nannies when the children were very young and Au Pairs for that last 5 years because it is difficult for us to be available when the children need help. We have a cleaner who comes twice a week who cleans the house changes the bedclothes and irons the parent’s clothes and puts them away. We are looking for a bright, pleasant, energetic, and proactive Au Pair who will be a helpful “older sister”.
Because Aurelia our 13 year old will be a weekly boarder she will only be around at the weekend and so this year our Au Pair will be mainly looking after Orlanda our 10 year old. Orlanda is pretty good at getting up and getting herself dressed and is also pretty good at getting her breakfast but sometime she needs to be supervised a little. At 8:30 she has to set off for the school and she needs to be in a clean uniform with her school bag and her books ready. She has long blond hair and she usually manages to brush it herself but of our Au Pairs have helped her plat it. Now she leaves the house on her own and goes round to her classmates home and they both walk to school together.(actually Orlanda goes on her scooter). The school is 10 minutes away. Classes finish at 15.30 and she has to be collected at 15:30. Sometimes she will have a friend home for a play date and our Au Pair cooks for them both. On other occasions she will go for a playdate at a friend’s house and needs to be collected usually at around 18:30. All the houses are in easy walking distance. On several days she has after school clubs and she needs to be collected from the school at 16:30. Orlanda also has two tutors after school. On Tuesday I take her to one tutor and then drop her off at the Gymnastics Club at 19:00 and she has to be collected at 20:00. Sometimes a friend brings her home at other times our Au Pair collects. On Wednesday our Au Pair takes her to the other tutor and collects her: the tutor is in easy walking distance but there is a bicycle for the Au Pair and Orlanda can cycle too. Our Au Pairs have been very good at making sure that Orlanda is doing her homework on time and taking it to school or the tutor. She is pretty good at this but sometimes needs some help Sometimes Orlanda eats the lunch provided by the school and sometimes she takes a packed lunch. She usually prepares the packed lunch herself. Important Au Pair Duties are making sure that Orlanda has a clean uniform and socks and underwear every day and that here room is clean and tidy. We hope that you are the sort of person that will enjoy the company of the family but of course we understand that you will want to meet other young people in the area and go out with them. Kew is a delightful little 'village' very close to central London and it has plenty of transport a few minutes away. The Underground railway, the overland railway and the buses that take you to nearby shopping and artistic centres like Richmond and Chiswick. Au pairs are usually have the weekends to themselves but may need to babysit occasionally and each day they are usually free from when Orlanda leaves at 08:30 until 15:30 or 16:30 and then usually from 19:30 or 20:00 You will have you own room and share the children's bathroom. There are 4 bathrooms in the house but the children's is the most convenient. If you do not have your own lap top you can share one with Aurelia. The house has WIFI and you can stay in touch with your family using Skipe. (CONTACT DETAILS DELETED)
