We are an American family who has been living in Thailand for the past 19 months. We will be moving back to the United States at the beginning of 2013. We would like to find someone interested in coming to Thailand first, and then travel with us to California. That will be our "home base" as we continue to travel the world during vacations and holidays. We are a very positive and happy family, appreciative of everything around us. We would like a nanny who is naturally happy as well. We like to have a lot of fun. We are very active and plan to do a lot of surfing, beach volleyball, and any other sport on the beach. We love yoga, dancing, and martial arts, and are a family of artists. The father of this family is fluent in Japanese and is learning Thai. Our family as a whole would like to learn Spanish or French, so if you know any of those languages along with basic English, that is a plus.
We are looking for a talented and experienced nanny. Our children are learning to be independent rather than having everything done for them, and we'd like a nanny who can continue to encourage that. We'd like someone that loves to play and help the kids learn, as well as share their culture with us. I am usually home with the kids so I'm looking for someone who can basically be my assistant, but is competent to take over as needed while I travel for business. We have a maid to do the house cleaning, but would like the nanny to encourage the children to clean up after themselves and help the younger ones clean as necessary. We generally use the ahaparenting parenting techniques and need someone who is able to assist with that. The nanny will assist with taking the kids to the park, going on bike rides and similar activities, and able to drive them to after-school classes, and possibly to and from school if needed. (If you cannot drive that may be ok.)
