We live in south west London. Central London is easily reached, only 15-30mins on the train or tube(metro) from where we live. Everything you need can be found locally, such as a Library, cinema, sports centre, shops and a choice of colleges. We live in a first floor apartment in a pretty neighbourhood near the River Thames. We have a large kitchen/ dining room, living room, balcony and roof terrace.The aupair has their own room thats large and wifi is available.
We consider ourselves to be friendly and supportive to our aupair, in discussing any concerns they might have and always being available to chat. We encourage the children to be well behaved and to treat the aupair with respect but also as a family member. My husband and I work full time so the aupair needs to be a confident and responsible person to care for our kids. An aupair needs to be able to enjoy the time with the children but ensure the daily routine is followed. Your key duties will be helping kids to get them ready for school, ensuring they do their homework and piano practice and doing the school run(drop off and pick up), preparing their meals and entertaining them after school. School is 5 minutes walk from my home. The aupairs needs to get up for 7am Mon-Fri to do the morning routine before taking the kids to school at 8:45am. During the day there will be small jobs around the house like laundry (put clothes and in the washing machine and take them out to dry), buying a few food items and emptying the bins. The kids need to be picked up from school at 3:15pm. On most days the children do clubs/classes after school, some at home and other at various venues. Sometimes the kids have play-dates with their friends at our house or theirs The aupair would prepare the dinner for 5;30pm. My husband and I would prepare most meals and leave it for the aupair to warm up and serve with steamed vegetables and fresh rice/pasta etc. The aupair's day ends at 6:30pm when we get home from work. We require babysitting up to 2 nights a week, including weekends. (Note that most weeks we don't require 2 nights).
