Hi - we are a British family living in Teddington in South West London. Wehave two boys aged 7 and 5 and are looking for a responsible, friendly au pair for a year from September this year Teddington is a lovely area on the edge of London. It is close to the River Thames, and also has lots of parks and green spaces. However it is also easy to get in to London by train. We are a few minutes walk from the local high street with shops, cafes and restaurants. A short bus ride away is a larger town (Kingston) which has very good shopping, cinema, bowling etc My husband and I both work. I am a marketing consultant and work from home most days but also sometimes have to travel which can mean I have to leave early or get back late. My husband works locally so is often at home before the children go to bed in the evening. We have two boys aged 5 and 7 who go to the local primary school (about a 15 minute walk from our house). They have quite busy schedules and often after school activities, which normally include some kind of sport!
We would like an au pair who is reliable and caring, and will build a good relationship with our children. The children are quite sporty so an interest in sport and the outdoors would be helpful. We would also prefer someone with childcare experience. You will need to pick the children up from school at 3.15 Monday to Thursday and look after them until around 6.15pm. During this time they will need taking to activities, to eat their dinner, and perhaps help with some home work. Sometimes they may also need taking to school in the morning or looking after later if I am away with work. During the school holidays we may want you to look after the children during the day and will pay extra for any extra hours worked. You will need to help with light household duties during the day but we also have a cleaner. And if you are able to prepare some meals for the children and/or the whole family that would be great. Because the children are quite young, and we want you to have a good relationship with them, it is important that you already have quite a good standard of English. Also because the children sometimes need taking to activities by car you will need to be able to drive. You will have access to our car. Your will have most of the day free to use to attend English classes or get to know the local area and make friends. Most evenings and weekends are free.You will need to babysit 1 to 2 evening a week Food, accommodation and pocket money are provided, as well as contribution towards flights and language school You will have a lovely double room with lots of natural light.
