Dear au pair, We are looking for a friend to come and be part of our family. We're easy going and just want to have fun when we're not in work/school. We live in a village called Cheadle near Manchester. We have a 5 bedroom terrace with a good size double room and private shower room on offer. We have had a great experiences with both our current au-pair and the previous one who still comes to visit. Following a year with us she managed to get a job at the Spanish academy near out house and now teaches Spanish in primary schools in the area. We were so pleased that she found a role that puts her degree in primary school education to such good use. Both of our au-pairs have volunteered one day a week in the children's school and this has given them great experience for their CV's and has provided our current au-pair with the necessary experience to gain a teaching assistant qualification. I'm 37 and a full time accountant and my husband is 33 and a chef - he works away so is only home at weekends. We have a little boy who will be 5 in August and his big sister is 6 years old and they both go to the local primary school that is just over the road. My little girl loves to read and write and is very "girly" ( not like her mother! ) and likes having her hair and nails done. However she is always happy to be running round outside getting muddy with her brother. He loves animals - his favourite place it the Zoo but he also loves collecting snails and looking after them ! We are looking for someone who can help out in the mornings from 7.15am when I leave for work, to help them get dressed, have breakfast and walk to school (just over the road). Then pick them up at 3pm and help with homework/clubs and play with them until I get home about 5.30/6 -they would need a meal preparing for them but they are not fussy eater ( I am terrible at cooking :-) !) . We don't expect to need any help at the weekends so you would have two days off. There will hopefully be local people for you to make friends with as my sister lives around the corner and has an au-pair. Our current au-pair has also made friends with another girl on the next street who looks after some other kids at the school. We will have a cleaner from September but would sill want some help with keeping the children's rooms tidy and helping with their washing. We are ideally looking someone that is prepared to stay for 11month at least.
