We are an Australian family of 3 (Steve, Claire and our daughter Alexandra who is 8 years old turning 9 in August) living in Cambridge in the UK. However Alexandra will say we are a family of 4 as we have a cat called Mr Pip. We are looking for someone to join our family as an au pair. We are a family who enjoy music, reading, going to concerts and walking and cycling. Steve works as an engineer and I work as an ecologist for an intergovernmental organisation and travel quite a bit for work. We both work fulltime and Alexandra is in fulltime school. Alexandra plays the violin, takes singing classes and is learning ballet and loves sports such as swimming and football but equally loves playing with her dolls and digging in the garden. We have a vegetable garden (allotment) which we love spending time in and then eating our produce. Steve also enjoys football (watching and playing) and I enjoying sewing and other craft activities.
We are looking for someone to drive Alexandra to school and pick her up again. The drive is 30 minutes. And take her to some after school activities. When I am travelling I am looking for someone who will also help get homework started and start to prepare dinner. We are also looking for some occassional baby sitting at night. We would be also looking for some holiday cover (but will top up your pocket money for these days). You would have your weekends to explore Cambridge and the surrounding area but you can also join us for our activities if you like as well. Alexandra is a funny little girl with her own personality but is easy to get along with and has no behaviour problems. We have a cleaner who comes every two weeks so we are not looking for someone to do heavy cleaning. We will make a car available to drive our daughter to school, a bike and you have your own room (small and cosy). We live on the edge of Cambridge in an area called Girton (15minutes cycle to the Centre of Cambridge). Cambridge has about 154,000 people living in it but has lots to do around it. We are also close to a bus stop as well. London is 50 minutes away on the train
