Dear My Future Beloved Host Family, My name is Sylvia Nova Mudita Sari, I am a 22 years old girl from Indonesia, and I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I am someone who values kindness, responsibility, and creating meaningful connections with others, including children. Although I am an only child and haven’t had formal childcare experience, I have spent much of my life surrounded by younger cousins, especially during my high school years. Caring for them helped me develop a natural sense of patience, understanding, and playfulness that I believe are essential qualities in an au pair. I have a strong motivation to become an au pair because I see this experience as a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and personal growth. I am passionate about learning how other families live, understanding new cultures, and forming bonds that go beyond borders. Becoming an au pair allows me to contribute in a meaningful way while also continuing to learn, both about child development, which ties closely to my psychology background, and about life in another part of the world. I believe your family should host me because I am enthusiastic, caring, and reliable. I take pride in creating a positive environment for children, encouraging creativity and curiosity, while also respecting routines and family values. I am also a morning person and already living on my own since senior high school, which means I am happy to help with light household tasks before the day starts. While I may not have formal childcare experience, my degree in psychology gives me a strong understanding of children’s needs, emotional development, and behavior.
