Dear Future Host Family, My name is Alexander, but feel free to call me Alex. I am 18 years old and I am from the United States. I was born in the state of North Carolina, but now I am living in Washington D.C. because I am a student at Georgetown University. There are three things which I love the most in life – foreign languages, traveling and children – and that’s why working as an au pair will suit me perfectly! Besides English, I speak French and Russian fluently after studying these languages for several years. One of the main goals of my stay in France will be to perfect my spoken French, as I have not had many chances to use French every day in my area. I think that the best way to master a language and understand a foreign culture is to immerse yourself in a foreign country and experience life with the people of the country. I want to become fluent in French because I have been in love with French culture for many years and I want to move to France after graduating college. In addition, my career goal is to work at the UN and French is a very important language in this field. All of these reasons explain why I would like to work as an au pair with your family. My main passions in life are languages and traveling, but I am also interested in many other things. I like international politics, reading, enjoying nature and exercising. I also like going out with friends, meeting new people and I know how to cook simple healthy dishes. If there is one thing I know how to do in life, it’s having fun – and I am especially good at having fun with kids!
