Persönliche Einführung

Dear host family, I am Djace-Sepori Lizalde, an eighteen year old from County Durham and a recent graduate of Durham Sixth Form Centre. I plan to Au Pair this year as I find it rewarding working with children. I also wish to explore our beautiful world with exuberance and excitement before I proceed to Edinburgh Napier University in September 2027. As a recent graduate of sixth form I have recently gained an A in English language A-Level and a GCSE in French, thus would be proficient at teaching English. As well as this, I grew up speaking both Spanish and English. Though I have lapsed in my Spanish during the past few years, I am still capable of understanding it, and believe this early exposure to multiple languages and their proven benefits in children, would greatly benefit your child/children in terms of linguistic studies. Speaking of my bilingual upbringing, I believe it is important to highlight that I am from a multicultural and biracial family. I was born to a North-Eastern English mother who was born and raised in a farm house just outside my current home town. I have a strong connection to nature and believe that children should experience the great outdoors and care for our planet. On the other hand, I am also the child of a first generation Mexican-American father who is descended from the Tarumarah (or Raramuri) tribe. They are known for their peak physical fitness and have maintained their strong cultural identity, strong sense of community and strong moral compass despite external pressures, which I believe has translated to the way I live my life. These differing cultures have also given me a unique and varied perspective on the world. As well as this, I spent my first five years in Germany where I learnt to hold fast to my friends and be there for people in a very real way as Germans may seem reserved at first, but will do anything for you once a foundation is built. Moving to a city (Tucson, Arizona) in America at the age of five taught me that nothing is permanent and helped me evolve into a flexible and adventurous soul. Finally, moving to a quiet village in England where I experienced my mothers childhood, filled with river walks and foraging has made me resourceful as well as able to slow down in this intense world. These experiences have given me the strong desire to travel the world as well as exposed me to different kinds of people, places and cultures. This has allowed me to quickly fit in, without ever assimilating for anyone else’s comfort, and still bring my own distinct impact to the multitudes of people I have met. Do you have an unruly, artsy child or maybe just an introverted individual? Then I can help you. After all, I truly believe that with the right nurturing, today’s challenging child can become tomorrow's personable person, as they are often the most memorable. Having been a fairly quirky child myself, I would also have strong compassion and understanding for unique children who other people struggle to understand. As well as this, being in my first year of adulthood, I have grown up in a similar era to your own children and I feel that this puts me at an advantage as I can relate to them and understand them in a way others may not. In terms of my previous experience with children, I have volunteered at a primary school for the past three years followed by in-depth work experience at my aunt's primary school where she is a respected and prominent teacher. During both my work experience and volunteering I took a hands-on role where I was in charge of the children’s safety and wellbeing along with placating them, playing games of all sorts, teaching them both in terms of basic maths, English and French and in life skills. This teaching in life and academics is where I discovered I enjoyed helping children as it was the first time in my short life that I felt truly useful and beneficial to society. Perhaps this was because they were so young and I feel that we, as child carers, shape them as they shape us. Moreover, I have been babysitting my twelve year old cousin since I was young and in turn was often looked after by older cousins as a child which created a continuous circle of impenetrable family values. When caring for my younger cousin I would take part in not only outdoor sports such as football, basketball and biking, but also Lego and playing with dolls as I can be quite versatile and have always enjoyed both stereotypical masculine and feminine activities. Additionally, my aunt is a teacher as well as my mother, cousin and aunt being teaching assistants who work with special educational needs students. Because of this you could say that childcare almost runs in my blood and is one of the many things which would make me perfect for this position.
