              Dear Host Family,
Am a Kenyan caregiver who is incredibly excited about the opportunity to join your family as an au pair through the U.S. J-1 Cultural Exchange Program
I have a great passion for working with children and fully understand the responsibility of caring for them. I have accumulated over 500 hours of verifiable childcare experience by working as an assistant teacher at a local nursery school, regularly caring for my younger cousins and neighbors' children and volunteering at a community center. I am confident in handling daily routines, from meal preparation and organizing engaging activities to ensuring their safety and helping with homework.
As an au pair, I am seeking more than just a job; I am genuinely motivated by the cultural exchange aspect of the program. I am a fluent English speaker and eager to immerse myself in the American lifestyle while also sharing the vibrant culture and traditions of Kenya with your children. I would love to teach them a few words of Swahili or show them how to prepare a traditional Kenyan meal.
Skills I Bring to Your Family
Childcare: I am experienced with ages 2 and up and enjoy being proactive, imaginative, and firm but fair when needed.
Driving: I hold a Kenyan driver's license and have 1 year of driving experience. I am comfortable with daily school drop-offs/pick-ups and running errands.
Education: I am a Secondary School Graduate (KCSE) and am keen to help your children with their schoolwork and reading.
Household Help: I am happy to assist with all tasks related to the children, including their laundry, keeping their play areas tidy, and preparing light, healthy meals.
I am applying for a 12-month commitment and am prepared for the adventure and challenge of living abroad. I am a responsible, adaptable, and organized individual who is ready to become a supportive big sister.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of speaking with you soon to discuss your family's needs and how I can become a positive and enriching part of your home.
Warmly,
Lesly Sani
