We are a family of 4. 2 parents and 2 boys. The boys are 6 and 7 and great fun! We live in the countryside in a small hamlet which is very pretty and only a short drive to the nearest village which is very charming [Goring and Streatley] and has a train station with links to Reading [12 minutes], Oxford [35 minutes] and London [1h]. My husband and I both work. My husband works in a town called Henley on Thames in a digital signage company. I work either from home or around England particularly in London. My work commitments can be very ad hoc. We holiday every year in Spain and we love Spain. We would love to have an au pair from Spain who was willing to come and live with us and help out in the home particularly with the drive to and from school [the "school run"]. We are very happy to help someone learn English and are keen to learn some Spanish too. Both boys are at school during the day thus day times are free for an au pair to pursue a language course at college. Our previous au pair attended a college in Reading during school hours three times a week.
We would like an au pair particularly to help with driving the children to and from school. We live in the countryside so driving is essential and the drive to school although it is on fairly main roads is a 25-minute journey one-way. Our previous au pair took the boys to school then dropped the car at the train station and took a train into Reading where she attended a language course then did the journey in reverse picking up the children at the end of the day and bringing them home. We would anticipate help with child-oriented tasks in the home including laundry and management of uniform and clothes and bedding. We don't anticipate asking anything that would be considered unsuitable by the BAPAA. Because my working life is very ad hoc and unpredictable it will be the case that on some days the au pair will need to pick the children up and ensure they are fed and put to bed on her own and are ready to start the day again the following morning. Because we live in the country the opportunities for socialising are more limited than in towns and cities. We would ideally like someone to come as soon as possible! At the moment we do not have any pets but that is likely to change in the course of the next year and we may get either a cat or a dog or both!
