We are an active busy family who needs a bit of extra help. The host dad works long hours mon-Friday and sometimes stays in London. The host mum works as a part time flight attendant and is away twice a month. The children's grand parents help out during these times and the au pair would never have some charge over night.
The au pair’s duties will be as follows: Weekday mornings, wake Henry up at 7:15 and give him breakfast, dress him and have him ready leave for school at 8:20. Then take him to school which starts at 8:45 The day is then your own and you will restate your duties at 3:30pm We have a cleaner once a week, but light household cleaning will be required each day. This will include, hovering, changing the childrens bedding etc. Whenever is needed hang the washing up to dry in our laundry room then once dry iron and put the boys clothes away (Sally and Paul’s to just be folded and left in a pile) At the end of each day the toys in the play area are to be tidied away and wiped clean if necessary. Load and unload the dishwasher after meal times and tidy the kitchen. I always cook the evening meal, but if you are a keen cook then you are more than welcome to cook a meal for us and I will buy the ingredients with our weekly shop. You are invited to eat with us as a family (minus Paul) each evening or you are free to us the kitchen to cook for yourself. If there is anything specific which you like to eat then there will be a central list for the shopping each week, which you can add too. Dinner will usually be at 5pm, after this you are required to help with bath time and getting the children ready for bed. Cleaning teeth etc. They then go to bed at 7/7:30pm and your day is finished. This list is not exclusive and is able to change. You will be required to babysit on two evenings a week. These will normally be on a Monday and a Friday, but can be flexible on both sides. If we ever need a babysitter of a weekend then you will be given the opportunity to do this, but you are not obliged and it will be paid as over time. You will have sole use of a car and you are able to use this in your free time. Depending on how much we need you to use if for the children, we will fill it up with petrol as often as is necessary. We would like you to treat the house as if it is your own home whilst you are living with us and for you to feel relaxed. But remember that it is also our family home, so when you are not working please make sure you still clean up after yourself.
