We live in a 5 bedroom house in large village with great transport links to both London and Birmingham. Rugby is a diverse town with residents from different nationalities - particulary Polish. Dad (Andy) works in the nearby city of Coventry and mum (Carolyn) works partly in central London and partly from home. Our children are Olly (10), Milly (6) and Maddy (2). Olly loves computer games, Nerf, lego, Tae Kwon Do and playing the guitar. Milly loves animals with a passion! She loves horse-riding and also practices Tae Kwon Do. Maddy never stops singing and is a crazy, affectionate 2 year old. Sky and Hiero are our beautiful Ragdoll cats - liking cats is a must!
We need our au-pair to get up in the morning with the kids and help them get ready for school - dressed, breakfast etc and walk them to school and Maddy to the childminder (15 minutes away). One day per week she will also look after Maddy at home while mum works from home and she'll be responsible for washing the children's clothes and ironing school uniforms. She will collect children from school, help them with their homework, cook and supervise their dinner and play until mum & dad are home/ finish work. We will need some flexibility and extra hours in school holidays. Our current au pair also has been teaching the children some French - we'd really like this to continue if possible. We'd like our au-pair to help us to keep the house clean and tidy but not to be our cleaner - we have a cleaner who comes in once a week. She will have weekends free and in most cases Fridays too. We will need occasional babysitting on a Friday or Saturday night but this won't be every week. Our au-pair has her own good size bedroom and shares a bathroom with Olly. We have wi fi, Sky TV, a garage gym, a bike she can use and will provide a basic phone. Trains from Rugby to London are regular - they are as fast as 50 minutes but expensive. Cheap advance tickets on the slower 1.5 hour service are from £6 each way. Our village has shops, pubs, church and primary school. Rugby town has a full selection of shops, bars, clubs, language classes. There is a bus service into Rugby town centre or its about a 40 minute walk/ 20 minute cycle. There are not many other au-pairs in the area. We are open-minded and have no requirements about your appearance: tattoos are cool! Its's what's in your heart that's important. We can provide great references from our previous au-pairs and will require positive, relevant references for our new au pair.
