My wife and I are broadcast media professionals who are currently working on separate continents! We need an au pair to help look after our lovely 11 year old daughter. We are both journalists so we can certainly help an au pair who is keen to learn more advanced English language skills. We would need to you speak at least basic English before you become our au pair. We're a happy, caring and laid back family who work hard but also place importance on happiness and fun. We like to travel and we have lived overseas for a number of years before moving back to the UK in the summer of 2014.
Our au pair's main responsibility will be to look after our daughter, mainly on weekday evenings. The role will involve some driving so you will need a licence that's valid in the UK. We will provide a car for use in your job but not for full-time use as it will be the family car. The job will involve cooking an evening meal and tidying up the kitchen afterwards. Other light housework duties would be expected from time-to-time but we already have a cleaner so that will not be a big part of the job. It would be great if you could talk to our daughter in your own language and also help with her languages homework where you can. In turn we will help you with your English language skills.
