We are a small Irish/English family living in central London. My husband Chris and I had the blessing to become parents for the first time in October 2015, when baby Aibhlinn (pronounced 'Ave-leen') was born. She's an adorable little girl approaching her second birthday, lively and full of fun. I returned to work part-time when Aibhlinn was 13 months, and since then, she's been cared for by my two sisters during the 2.5 days when I am in work. We're now looking for an au pair to come and join our family and to take care of Aibhlinn for 3.5 days a week only. We live in a modern 3 bed house in Kennington, central London (zone one) and have a double ensuite room available for any au pair. Kennington is a lively part of London and only a ten minute bus ride to all the main attractions of central London - you can see the London eye from your bedroom - so the city really is at your feet. Both Chris and I work for charities, but our offices are only a few minutes cycle away, so we tend to leave the house on work days by 9am and be home by 5:30pm. We're a relaxed, laid back family who would see any au pair as part of our extended family. We've never had an au pair before, but it would be important to us to be as flexible as possible with arrangements to make sure that as our au pair you'd get the most out of your time with us. We'd only need your help on a part-time basis (3.5 days a week) so the rest of the time would be yours to do whatever interests you - whether that means study, travelling or simply enjoying all that London offers.
I would need our au pair to be the principal carer for Aibhlinn during the 2.5 days per week that I am in work - at present this is Tues, Weds (9am-5:30pm) and Thurs (9am-12:30pm). In addition, Chris and I would like the equivalent of another day a week of your time, to give us a bit of leeway to perhaps enjoy an evening out a week or an afternoon to do some other chores! This means we need your help only part-time per week, hopefully an attraction so that you can shape the rest of your week as you see fit. We also spend most weekends at our second home by the seaside - so you'd be have the London house to yourself. There's no other expectation of help - we have a cleaner so no light housework is needed.
