British family looking for a fun, friendly au pair to look after two boys in beautiful south London (Herne Hill). We are looking forward to an au pair joining our family, helping us with the children, but also for cultural exchange and good company. We will enjoy introducing you to London, our food, our traditions and our language. We have had three au pairs before and have had an excellent experience every time.
We live in a lovely house close to central London. We are looking for an au pair to look after our two boys (aged 6 and 8) for 3 and a half days each week whilst we are at work. In the school term time, the boys go to school from 8.15am-3.30pm each day. You will take them to school, and then collect them at the end of the day, bring them home, make their supper and supervise music practice and homework. In the school holidays you will look after the boys Mon-Wed all day (08.00-18.30/19.00) and Thurs half day (08.00-15.00). The boys are very bright, interested in everything from books to jewels to craft to board games and nature. They love asking questions, learning about the world and about other languages. They really love their two cats, called Lolly and Mimi, who are very cute and naughty!! We (parents) both work professionally in central London (lawyer and Government civil servant). We love eating good food and seeing our friends and spending time in our garden. We also love music, theatre and art. In our house, you will have your own sunny double bedroom, with wifi internet and a bathroom that you share with the children. You will have time to go to a language school during the day whilst the boys are at school. You will also have Friday, Saturday, Sunday daytimes free for your own activities (we may ask you to babysit some evenings). We live in an area with many fun and friendly au pairs, as well as very good transport into central London. Our au pair will look after the children, including preparing their meals, supervising homework and playing interesting and imaginative games. This will require an au pair who is sensible, safe and loving - and who can instil discipline when appropriate! You don't need to be able to drive, the children travel to school by train. Our au pair needs to be tidy: clearing up after the children's meals, and washing their clothes. But we have a cleaner to clean the house! Our au pair needs to be independent. There are lots of local people to make friends with and our au pairs have had lots of fun here! We hope to find an au pair who has learned a musical instrument to be able to help the children with their music practice (piano and violin).
