We are a working 38 years old couple with 2 years old twin daughters. We live in Istanbul in a very central complex in a flat with security, pools, parks and other social areas in it. Also the place we live in is in the city center of Anatolian side of Istanbul and have access to Metro, bus and all other public transportation. Also there is a very big and famous shopping mall by our complex in 1 minute walking distance. During the week we are both working and not at home between 9 am - 6pm. After work, we mostly spend our time at home. At weekends we are going out where we can have fun and sometimes to Sapanca which is 1 hour drive away to our family house. In summers, we go to summer places in Turkey all together which is mostly in the southwest side of Turkey. We also have a house in Bodrum which we visit time to time. Our purpose with hosting an aupair is to give our children a preschool English language habit and to ensure that they can have a good quality and funny time with their sister aupair. We want them to spend their time with lots of playing, doing quality activities, being creative and practising English and other languages if possible.
Our kids are two years old and started to speak recently. So they started to ask and learn everything. Also they are very active . They jump, run and fall all the time. They sometimes fight to each other since they have to own everything for theirselves. Our home is a very living and active home. The day starts at 08:00 am and the kids sleep at 13:00. They get up at 15:00-16:00 and sleep again at 21:00. We are back home at 18:00 everyday so the aupair should be together with the kids between 08:00 and 18:00 at least which is 8 hours (if you don't count the midday sleep). When we count weekdays, it is about 45 hours per week. It seems a little bit much but you will be off at the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and i'm sure that you will have a great time with the kids since they are very funny. As a daily routine, we request au-pair to; - Wake up at 08:00 - Change diapers (this will happen a lot during the day! We hope to stop this in 3 months. Maybe you can achieve it :) - Feed the kids for breakfast (Make sure that the kitchen is clean after all meals) - Activities (09:00 to 12:00) - Lunch (12:00) - Prepare them for sleep at 13:00 and get them at 15:00-16:00 from bed - Activites (16:00-18:00) - We come from work. You are free. If you prefer you can also join us when we go out, do activities or other things. As housework, we request au-pair to; - Keep children clean. Not shiny but at least clean. You may need to bath them during the day. You have your own bath and shower. Please use it. - Make sure that your room, kids room, kitchen and living rooms are not dirty during the day. Since it is a flat, it is not so hard to keep it clean. Just don't leave it in the ground or sweep if you see some waste in the ground. You don't have te make a heavy cleaning. We have another lady for it. - Manage kids' clothes (simply put in the washing machine if dirty, start the machine and put them into the drying machine) That's it basically. Of course, if you want to do more, no one will stop you :)
