We are a busy modern family with both parents working full time and 3 x active kids who grew up outside of the UK. We have now lived here for nearly 2 x years and are fully settled, so we know how if feels to be a foreigner! ;-) My partner has two lovely boys who come and stay with us most weekends, so we definitely need an au pair who is not afriad of noise and activity! ;-) We love music, family gatherings, hanging out on the beach (10 minutes from our house) and being out and about. Equally we both work really hard, so we also need some down time occasionally! Although not very often!! The older two kids are pretty independent, the younger one needs a little bit more attention as he has dyslexia, so requires a little bit of patience and understanding. In my opinion, they are all a little bit too attached to their ipads, xboxes and tv's, so i'd love somebody who can motivate them to get outside and play in the fresh air or do activities which do not involve a mouse! ;-) We do have two large old dogs.. who are gentle, silly and spoilt. So definitely we need somebody who loves animals.
First responsibilities are to make sure the children get to school on time with the correct items in their school bags. Only one needs to be walked to school and collected. Support with homework would be much appreciated. In terms of household duties, its really some ironing, unloading the dishwasher, tidying up and running the hoover around. We are all involved with looking after the house and I encourage the kids to help out too! Vary rarely would any cooking be required, if so, it would only be for yourself and children. We are foodies, we love to cook and eat descent, healthy food. My youngest child is dyslexic, so we would definitely appreicate somebody with patience and a calm attitude towards him, to offer encouragement and support with reading and writing.
