Personal introduction

We are a small family living in a country town outside of Oxford looking to welcome an older sister, au pair into our home in September 2015 for a year. If you are looking to come to the UK and would like to consider a family living in a small town and willing to stay for 12 months please do get in touch. Rosie and Zander go to the local school and we have lots of family in the area and a great small community life with shops, a cafe, library and lots of sports facilities. They are very happy kids who are at a really exciting time of their learning and development. I am a single mother and have a great relationship with their father who lives in London - the children are happy and balanced. If you were to join our family, we are looking for an au pair who would like to learn about the UK, improve their English and help us make the daily routine fun and loving for the children. As we have had au pairs before, we have learnt that it is important that you are able to stay for at least a year and have a good level of English. The children are now nearly 8 / 6 and love to have good conversations about the world. They love to learn about new cultures and enjoy doing sports and games. We are hoping to welcome someone who has initiative around the house, enjoy playing with the children and also wanting to make a life over in the UK. It is preferable that you have a good level of English. As I work in Oxford and London, I am often away until around 10 pm so if you jo

The Au pair's job

The children are great friends with each other and love to play - with girl role-plays, creative crafts and some ball games in the garden. They are a typical boy/ girl with their passions and seem to have a great way of being inventive. Our home is just 15 minutes on the train from Oxford and 1.10 hr on the train to London. There are buses to the local town where there is an English school and also lots of students and other young life around. Every second weekend the children go to stay with their Dad, Sam who is a great father and very involved with their daily lives. I work in the arts / charity world and often have to be in London for meetings. I also have an office in the village so work from 'home' about 3 days out of 5. We often go to Devon for our weekends and holidays and would welcome you to come with us to the coast but weekends are your time and it is up to you how much time you spend with the family on your 'off' days. As our au pair, we would ask you to do about 28 - 32 hours a week helping with the kids after school, playing with them in the garden and encouraging school work and sports. Once a week you might have to do overnight and I would ask for help around the house and in particular with the kids room and playroom. We would hope that you would like to help with cooking and estimate around 4 hours a week around the house.
