Personal introduction

ABOUT US: We are a young professional couple living in South London looking for a live-in au pair to look after our 2 daughters who are 22 months and 5 months respectively (as at July 2014). The position is available from the middle of September/beginning of October 2014, for a minimum of one year. We live in a spacious 4 bedroom detached house with a sizeable garden in South Croydon, Surrey which is a leafy London suburb close to Central London. There are frequent trains from nearby South and East Croydon stations which take 15 minutes to get to London Bridge or London Victoria. We are close to several parks/public gardens and Croydon town centre (10 minutes away) offers several shopping centres with a good range of shops, cinemas, restaurants/bars and coffee shops. ABOUT YOU: - Legally permitted to work in the UK. Evidenced by an EU Passport or a valid work visa. - Prior experience of working with and having sole charge of young children. - Fluent spoken English and ability to read English. - Non smoker. Smoking will not be permitted anywhere in or around our house or near the girls. - Have or prepared to be CRB checked (or local equivalent). - Ability to drive preferred (you must have a clean driving licence), otherwise you should be confident taking public transport with the girls. - Friendly, reliable and energetic with a genuine love of children. - Able to provide two references confirming relevant recent experience and the above qualities.

The nursery is a 5 minute walk from our house. - prepare healthy meals for the girls, feed them and clean up after their meals. - participate in and take the girls to different activities when they are not at nursery. - deal with bedtime routine including bathing the girls (if necessary), giving them milk, reading stories and putting them to bed by 7:00pm/7:30pm. - assist mum with the girls 1 day a week. - babysitting 1/2 nights a week (1 night may be at the weekend). 2. WEEKENDS/FREE TIME: You will generally not be required to work at weekends unless we have made a prior arrangement with you which may include travelling with us to/staying at functions away from home.
