Personal introduction

We are a Swedish/English family that have had AuPairs for 6 years now. We really value having an AuPair that is part of our family and if you want to know more about what it's like living with us we will gladly put you together with any of our old AuPairs. We live in Surrey which is about 45 min on a train outside central London. We are looking for an au pair that? • We ideally need our new AuPair to start in May/June and to take a handover from our current AuPair. • Ideally we’d like you to speak Swedish as we are trying to teach the boys Swedish. • We also need you to be confident in speaking English or at least courageous enough to speak to teachers and other parents. • You will need a driver’s license to be able to take the boys to their various activities but also so that you can see friends etc. We have a car for you to use • We are looking for a non-smoker and our household is completely non smoking. • An interest in cooking, learning how to cook or baking would be an advantage. • You will have to be 21 years old or over as our car insurance is otherwise too expensive (over £2000/year so you can see how I’m not just making that up) About Family Squire We live in a 6-room house with a huge kitchen/ family room looking on to the garden. Our house is in a village in the countryside in Surrey just south of London.

The Au pair's job

You’d be responsible for looking after the children, taking them to school, after school clubs, play dates etc. You would need to do homework with the boys, which will include reading, spelling and maths. You’d also need to cook for them and do some cleaning and various housework. Normal working days are Mon-Fri which will be about 35 hours per week. • You’ll get your own double bedroom with radio, TV and DVD • We have wireless broadband which you can use with your own laptop or borrow our PC • We also have free phone calls to Sweden. • There will be a car for you to use for your own purposes on time off and we will ensure that you are insured to drive this car. We go over the basic traffic rules that may be different, with you as you arrive. If you want to we will help you to get comfortable with driving in England and on the left hand side of the road • We would like to offer you 1 weeks paid holiday for each 6 months that you work with us. • We would pay for you to attend a first aid course for children. It’s a 1 day course and we’ll agree on a date that suits us all. If you are looking for a Good family to be an integral part of then I think I can safely say that all of our previous AuPairs will vouch for us. We hope from this description that you can see that it’s important to us that you feel comfortable, confident and happy in our home.
