We are a young family of four kids & six pets. My husband runs his own business where I work part time at reception, marketing and payroll for the company. The three older kids go to school and 4 year old Kaitlyn is home with me & the au pair. We live in a small house close to the beach and shops - 10 min walk each, in one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Australia. We love to go swimming, camping, off-roading, cycling and hiking. Our kids are very creative and love any kind of crafts as well as Lego, dolls and pretend play of all kinds They also play outside a lot in our fenced yard with plenty of fun stuff around -a trampoline, climbing tree etc. We are happy to help you improve your English but at the same time we are looking for someone from a German speaking background to help us improve the children's German language skills, so you will be required to speak German when with the children. On the other hand, as the older ones are learning Indonesian at school, I have decided that it would be helpful to them, too, to have an au pair that speaks Indonesian. We are looking for a person who communicates well and values honesty above everything. You need to be able to look into the future and teach the children valuable lessons to support their character development while I am out of the house.
The kids are well behaved and the older ones are doing well at school, but my main focus in raising my children is on building strong character and morals in each one of them to last for their adult life. We are a very close knit family and wish for our au pair to fit in well and become part of the family. We visit a Christian church most Sundays and would require you to join at least one Sunday a month. I believe it will help our new family member to understand our values and integrate better. It is also a safe environment to make new friends and find out what is going on in town. The position is flexible, between 6 - 8 hours per day with weekends off and we currently pay a pocket money of $150. You would be required to help in the mornings on weekdays to get the kids ready for school, keep track of their chores and help with cleaning up the kitchen after the kids and Mark and I have left. In the mornings you will be looking after Kaitlyn on your own at home while mum goes to the office. This includes some tidying up and cooking while I am away. The rest of the time you can play with the kids, do crafts or go and explore our many parks and beaches. Occasionally there will be some laundry or shopping to be done and every now and then we will have a gardening day together. In the evening I need help to get the kids organized, tidy up their rooms, help with their homework or with preparing dinner.
